As a real estate agent, do you see any value in personal websites?

Personal websites, if found, can be helpful for an individual buyer or seller to learn about the Realtor and their knowledge of the market. The trouble usually is that the agent won’t spend the time necessary to develop a website that can be found. The SEO needed today to show up is almost impossible unless you have unlimited funds.

In 1995, when I started in the real estate business, you could have a website in the top ten (or first-page search on Google) because only eight of us had websites and Zillow, Trulia, Realtor.com, Homes.com, and more that didn’t exist yet.

Now, almost every Realtor has a website. In our area, that is over 8,500 of them, so unless you are paying (dearly) for a position or have several full-time people writing articles and drawing attention to your site, it is hard to compete for those eyes.
